Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Tabasco
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 180 g nuts (halved pecans)
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cajun spiced pecans

Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F). Heat the butter and oil in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Combine the Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder and simmer for 2-3 minutes over low heat. Add the nut halves and coat with the sauce. Then spread them out on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F), shaking the tray occasionally. Sprinkle the hot nuts with salt in a bowl and mix well. Then spread them out again on the baking sheet and let them cool and dry at room temperature. Store in an airtight container.
