Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 65 g butter, liquid
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 450 ml water
  • Cinnamon and/or vanilla sugar or
  • Anise, ground, for seasoning

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

… or waffle rolls … or waffle bowls, makes about 25 pieces

Cream together the butter, sugar, salt, and eggs. Alternately stir in the flour and water. Season with cinnamon, vanilla sugar, or anise powder, if desired. Let the batter rest for a good hour. Then, using a large spoon (potato or vegetable scoop), bake the waffles in portions until they are golden brown. Use the freshly baked waffles immediately. It’s best to refill the iron with batter afterwards. I roll waffle curls using a piece of a broom handle. For the bowls, I let the waffle slide into a dessert or cereal bowl. For the croissants, I use a cone to wrap around the waffle. Placed in a tin, everything stays nice and crispy.
