Anja's yeast plait with raisins

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 100 g sugar
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 125 g butter
  • 250 g raisins
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 15 g vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

In a bowl, mix 100g of flour, yeast, warm milk, and a little sugar by hand until the yeast dissolves. Then mix in the remaining ingredients: sugar, salt, egg, butter, and raisins thoroughly, ideally using a mixer. Let the dough stand for 30 minutes, cover with a cloth. Once the dough has risen, divide it into three parts and form the plaited loaf. Let the plaited loaf rise for another 20 minutes. Brush the plaited loaf with the egg yolk and milk mixture and sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Bake the plaited loaf at 190°C for about 40 minutes. Be careful that it doesn’t get too dark right away; if so, turn the oven down, or the dough won’t be baked through.
