Apple and onion sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 small apples
  • 3 onions
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 375 ml chicken broth, strong
  • 5 tbsp red wine
  • possibly sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Core and peel the apples, then slice them into wedges. Sauté the apples in about 3 tablespoons of water. Roast the onions in hot oil until golden brown. Add the broth and red wine and let it reduce slightly. Thicken with a sauce thickener, if desired. Then warm the apple slices in the sauce and serve.
