Apple casserole with amaretti crunch

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 apples
  • 1 orange(s), juice
  • ½ lemon(s), organic, juice and zest, if desired 1 whole
  • 150 g amaretti biscuits
  • 75 g butter

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

quick and easy

Peel the apples and slice them into thin wedges, then place them in a baking dish and toss with the orange juice, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Finely crumble the amaretti biscuits and crumble them with the cold butter cut into pieces. Sprinkle the apples with the crumbles. Bake the casserole in the oven at 160°C (convection oven) for 20 minutes. If you like, you can also mix sultanas and/or flaked almonds into the apples, or serve with maple syrup.
