Apple chutney

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg apples, sour
  • 100 g onion(s)
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 150 g raisins, washed
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper
  • 250 ml vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • 600 g sugar (rock candy), brown

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel, quarter, core, and slice the apples. Finely dice the onions. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour into clean, preheated jars and seal while still hot. Apple chutney goes well with cold pâtés, game, boiled beef, salted, or roasted pork. It’s especially recommended with duck or goose.
