Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 4 egg whites
- 130 g sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- Pudding powder, flour, baking powder, total 130 g
- 400 g quark
- 400 g cream cheese
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 50 g sugar
- 1 jar applesauce
- 400 g cream
- 2 packs of cream stiffener
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
Beat egg whites until stiff, sprinkle in sugar, fold in egg yolks, mix 1/2 the baking powder, chocolate pudding, and flour (130g total), and fold in. Bake for 8-10 minutes (round pan). Filling: Mix quark, cream cheese, vanilla sugar, and sugar until smooth, fold in applesauce. Whip the cream and cream stiffener, and fold into the mixture. Preparation: Cut the sponge cake in half. Place a cake ring around one layer, spoon the applesauce mixture on top, and place the other sponge cake on top. Chill. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
