sweet casserole, apple utilization
Peel and chop the apples, and arrange them in a greased ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar over them. The amount depends on how sour the apples are. I always use about a tablespoon, and in winter I like to mix in a bit of cinnamon. Place the apples in the oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the sugar and flour and melt the butter. Knead the mixture together and form a crumble. Remove the apples from the oven and sprinkle with raisins, almonds, and walnuts. Spread the crumble on top. Bake the apple crumble for 20-25 minutes. It tastes best warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
