Apple dumplings with cinnamon and sugar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 400 g flour
  • 500 g apples (Boskop)
  • Butter, for basting
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Whisk the eggs with salt, sugar, milk, and melted butter. Add the flour and mix well. Peel, quarter, and core the apples, then cut them into 1/2-cm pieces and knead them into the dough. Bring plenty of salted water to a boil in a large pot. Using 2 tablespoons of the dough, scoop out smooth dumplings and form them. Cook the dumplings in an uncovered pot until tender, but do not let them boil. After about 15 minutes, remove them with a slotted spoon, drain briefly on kitchen paper, and then place them in a preheated bowl. Brown a little butter in a pan, then pour it over the dumplings. Place the cinnamon mixture in a bowl on the table. Everyone takes as much as they like.
