Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 140 g flour
- 100 ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- some mineral water
- 3 apples, sour, e.g. Boskoop
- 50 g sugar
- Cinnamon
- Clarified butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Gradually mix the flour with the milk. Add the eggs, salt, and vanilla sugar, and whisk everything together. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes, then add a splash of mineral water. Wash the apples, core them with a corer, and cut them into thick slices. Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Heat a generous amount of clarified butter in a pan until boiling. Dip the apple rings, one at a time, into the batter, place them in the hot oil, and fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain the apple fritters on kitchen paper and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while they’re still hot.
