Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 100 g raisins
- 100 ml rum (40%)
- 1 kg apples (sour; peeled & cored)
- 1 lemon(s) (untreated; juice & grated peel)
- 375 ml apple juice
- 1 kg gelling sugar

Place the raisins in a small bowl, pour over the rum, and let it sit for 30 minutes (preferably overnight). Meanwhile, prepare the apples and cut them into small pieces. In a saucepan, combine them with the lemon juice, lemon zest, and apple juice. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in the gelling sugar, raisins, and rum, and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Test the setting time and pour the mixture into prepared jars while still hot.
