Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 onions, sliced into rings
- 4 apples (Boskoop), diced
- 1 cup broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- salt and pepper
- marjoram
- Vegetable oil, neutral
Instructions

goes well with poultry or liver
Lightly caramelize the sugar in a saucepan with a little oil, add the sliced onions and let them brown. Briefly sauté the diced apples, then deglaze with the stock. Simmer gently (about 20 minutes) until the apples are tender/disintegrate. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and (a generous amount of) marjoram.
