Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g mixed leaf salad (e.g. frisee, rocket, lamb’s lettuce, etc.)
- 3 small apples
- 100 g walnuts
- 200 g cheese (e.g. Gouda) in one piece
- 100 ml balsamic vinegar, lighter
- 2 tsp, heaped honey
- 1 cup of sweet cream
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
with apples, walnuts and cheese
Trim and wash the lettuce leaves, then tear them into bite-sized pieces. Wash the apples, core them, and cut them into small sticks or cubes. Roughly chop the walnuts or simply crumble them. Finely grate the cheese. For the dressing, first whisk together the white balsamic vinegar and honey until the honey is completely dissolved. Then add the cream and stir briefly. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Note: This order is important, otherwise the cream will curdle! You can, of course, use more or less honey, depending on your taste. Arrange the lettuce leaves on plates and arrange apple pieces and walnuts on top. Sprinkle the cheese on top as a topping. Drizzle with the dressing. Serve with toasted white bread. The salad can also be layered in a bowl, but then serve the dressing separately. It’s also delicious as a side dish to steak, roasts, etc. This salad is a vacation souvenir, and I’m so excited about it that I want to share it with you now.
