Apple – pumpkin – jam

Ingredients for 7 servings:

  • 500 g pumpkin flesh
  • 50 ml apple juice
  • 500 g apples, ripe
  • 1 lemon(s) , (juice)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the pumpkin into pieces and simmer in a saucepan with a little water for about 10 minutes. Purée the pumpkin pieces with the apple juice. Add the lemon juice. Coarsely grate the peeled apples and stir into the pumpkin mixture. Add the sugar and mix well. Heat with the cinnamon stick and simmer according to the instructions on the preserving sugar packet. Remove the cinnamon stick and pour into hot, rinsed screw-top jars. Let stand on the lid for a few minutes, then turn over. Depending on the jar size, this makes about 7-8 jars. Tip: Add a dash of Calvados!
