Apple Strudel Jam
The perfect apple strudel jam recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 150 ml Apple juice
- 1 half small Cinnamon stick
- 5 piece Cinnamon blossom spice
- 3 piece Cloves
- 1 sake Star anise
- 1 Knife point Citric acid
- 250 g Tart apples
- 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 100 g Cane sugar
- 8 g Gelfix 3: 1
- 2 tablespoon Rum raisins
- Either make apple juice yourself or use something bought – depending on how the skin of the apples is you have to peel it (because my apples were beautiful, I processed them WITH the skin) – cut out the core and then cut the apples into tiny cubes – Pour a little lemon juice over them so that they don’t turn brown
- Bring the apple juice with the spices and a pinch of citric acid to a boil and simmer gently for about 5 minutes so that the spices can unfold well – then take out the spices and add the apple cubes – mix the cane sugar with the Gelfix and add the Let simmer for a full 5 minutes – meanwhile chop the rum raisins into small pieces – add the rum raisins and reheat very briefly – immediately pour the jam into clean glasses while still boiling hot
Conclusion
- It was a first attempt with very small amounts ….. I was very impressed with the result, a surprising delicacy! I will prepare even larger quantities of it immediately !! If you want, you can of course puree the jam, but since the apple strudel also contains small pieces of apple, I find it more suitable in chunks …
