Apple turnovers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 250 g flour
  • ⅛ liter of water
  • 1 kg apples, sour
  • some sugar
  • n. B. water
  • some cinnamon
  • Flour for the work surface
  • Sugar (granulated sugar) or powdered sugar (mixed with milk or water)

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 50 minutes

tender and crispy at the same time and are always well received

Make a dough from the first three ingredients. Form it into a ball and refrigerate overnight. Peel, chop and core the apples, then cook them with a little water until puree. Season with sugar and cinnamon, if desired, and let cool. The next day, roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut out circles of about 10 cm in diameter (any size). Using a teaspoon, place small dollops of applesauce onto the dough circles, fold them together, and carefully press the edges down. Place the dough circles on a baking tray or rack lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes. Let cool and then dust with granulated sugar or icing sugar (mixed with a little milk or water). Great for children who want to hand out homemade apple turnovers at school or kindergarten. This amount of dough will make about 40 apple turnovers. I’ve given the number of people a bit lower, because hardly anyone here eats just one apple turnover. They also make a great party favor: I’ve even given them away, packaged in a pretty box.
