Apple-Vanilla Strudel

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 jar applesauce
  • 1 apple, e.g. Boskoop or similar
  • 1 pack of pudding powder, vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • some sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 500 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

for 6 pieces

Cook the pudding according to the package instructions and let cool. Thaw the puff pastry and combine on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with applesauce. Melt butter in a pan and fry the apple pieces, caramelizing them with sugar. Place the apples on the applesauce and spread with vanilla pudding. Seal the puff pastry and brush with egg yolk. Turn over and brush with egg yolk again. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden yellow and slightly darker. Serve with sugar and cinnamon mixture or vanilla sauce. Also delicious cold.
