  • 1 pack of strudel sheets
  • 1 kg plum(s) (prunes)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 120 g breadcrumbs
  • 60 g walnuts, grated
  • Butter, for the crumbs and for spreading

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the plums, halve, pit, and quarter them. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar, 60g breadcrumbs, 60g walnuts, and a pinch of cinnamon to the plums and let them sit for a while. In the meantime, toast 60g breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a little butter until golden brown. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the strudel sheets on a cloth, brush with a little melted butter, then add the breadcrumbs, then the plum mixture, and carefully roll them up using the cloth. Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with melted butter again and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. After baking, brush with melted butter again and cover with a dry tea towel for 3 minutes. Vanilla sauce or Vanilla ice cream goes deliciously with it!
