Arabian horse meat with rice and tortilla wedges

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 2 tortillas
  • 2 bags of long grain rice
  • 2 onions
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed or beef
  • 3 gherkins
  • 1 apple, more or less depending on size
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp mustard or horseradish
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • cumin
  • cardamom
  • Allspice
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 150 g natural yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 dashes Tabasco
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Bake the flatbreads in the oven at 150°C for about 3 minutes, cut each into 8 wedges like a cake, and set aside. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Dice the onions and sweat in oil. Add the minced meat and fry well. Dice the gherkins, apples, and tomatoes and add them to the pan. Stir in the tomato paste, mustard, and spices. Turn off the heat. Stir in the yogurt and honey, and season with Tabasco to taste. Arrange the Arabian horseman’s meat on plates over the rice and serve the flatbread wedges with the meat.
