"Nordböhe" – minced meat, rice and cheese pan

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 kg minced meat, mixed
  • 2 bags of long grain rice
  • 200 g bacon cubes
  • 2 packs of feta cheese
  • 1 pack of grated cheese
  • 2 bell peppers or tomatoes
  • 6 small peppers
  • 2 cans of corn
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 onions or shallots
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • e.g. curry powder
  • e.g. paprika powder
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • basil leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Perfect hangover meal

Wash the bell peppers and chili peppers, cut into half strips. Peel the garlic and shallots, and dice the bacon. Fry the bacon in 2 tablespoons of oil, then add the shallots and garlic over medium heat. Let stand. Cook the rice in boiling water. Sauté the diced onions in oil and butter. Add the minced meat and fry until just a little red remains on the minced meat, then add the bacon, onion, and garlic, and mix. Season with curry powder, paprika, pepper, and salt. Add the bell peppers and chili peppers and sauté over low heat until tender. Then stir in a packet of sour cream. Mix with the rice in the pan, then stir in a packet of crème fraîche, and towards the end, add the diced feta cheese. Simmer over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Then add the corn and stir in the grated cheese. Finally, stir in the basil leaves and simmer for another minute. Season to taste and add a few drops of Tabasco.
