Aronia – Orange – Jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 800 g orange(s), peeled and pitted
  • 200 g berries (aronia berries, chokeberries)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar
  • some orange peel (zest, fine strips), from organic oranges

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Idea for using healthy berries

Place the oranges and aronia berries in a large pot and puree coarsely or finely, as desired. Add the orange zest, if desired. Add the gelling sugar and bring to a boil while stirring. Boil for 4 minutes, then pour into hot, rinsed jam jars and seal immediately. Turn the jars upside down for 5 minutes. These extremely healthy aronia berries aren’t the easiest to use in jam making, as they have a somewhat tart and bland taste and tend to overpower mixed jams. However, they really come into their own in this recipe! The proportions of oranges and aronia can be adjusted to taste, as long as the total is 1 kg.
