Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • ½ cup soy sauce, Japanese
  • ½ cup maple syrup, Canadian
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, fresh
  • 1 root ginger, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 5 minutes

Mix half a cup of Japanese soy sauce with half a cup of maple syrup. Crush the garlic clove with a garlic press and add it. Wash and peel the ginger, cut it into very fine cubes (1 mm), and add it. Let the sauce simmer for a few hours. This sauce is perfect for marinating meat, fish, and poultry for grilling, as well as for braising or steaming. This sauce is also suitable for dipping, as it is extremely aromatic and offers a balanced balance between the dry Japanese soy sauce and the relatively sweet maple syrup.
