Asparagus in Italian

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, green
  • 1 pack of raw ham, Italian
  • 1 pack of cheese (French cheese, spicy) in thin slices
  • 250 ml hollandaise sauce with herbs
  • 1 piece(s) butter
  • Sugar
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

First, boil the asparagus in hot water with a knob of butter, a little sugar, and enough salt for about 15 minutes, then let it cool slightly. Once the asparagus is cool enough to handle, but still warm, it’s ready to be prepared: Take a slice of cheese and wrap it around three asparagus spears. If the asparagus is still warm, the cheese will stick to the asparagus, and you won’t need toothpicks. Wrap a slice of ham around the cheese and place it in a baking dish. Repeat this with the remaining asparagus, and once everything is in the dish, pour the hollandaise sauce over it. Place the baking dish in the oven at 180°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes. Serve with a fresh salad, a piece of meat, or potatoes.
