Asparagus toast with a twist

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg white asparagus
  • 250 g hollandaise sauce
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 8 slice(s) ham (back ham), 1 or 2 slices per toast
  • 8 slice(s) toast bread (butter toast)
  • 200 g mild cheese, grated (e.g. Gouda or Mozzarella)
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the asparagus thoroughly and boil in salted water for about half an hour. Toast all 8 slices of toast and place 2 next to each other on a plate. Prepare the hollandaise sauce and slice the tomatoes. Place 1-2 slices of ham on the toast and 2 slices of tomato on each slice. Spread a little sauce over the asparagus, divide it into 4 portions, and then place it on top. Spread the remaining sauce over the asparagus and sprinkle with cheese. Finally, bake the asparagus slices on the plate for about 10 minutes in the oven at 200°C or briefly in the microwave.
