Asparagus – Tomatoes – Toast

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus
  • butter
  • Sugar
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (Gouda)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • Basil, a few leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the asparagus and cook in salted water with a little butter and sugar for 15 minutes. Let it cool in the liquid, then drain well. Toast the bread, spread with butter, and top with ham, asparagus, and cheese. Slice the tomatoes, place them on top of the cheese, season with salt and pepper, and grill the bread. Serve garnished with basil leaves.
