Bacon Burger

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 16 slice(s) of breakfast bacon, 2 slices per burger
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • Garlic
  • chili powder
  • Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Mix the ground beef with soaked and squeezed bread, eggs, finely diced onions, and seasonings, then form meatballs with wet hands. Wrap each meatball with two slices of bacon or bacon and secure with toothpicks. Fry the finished meatballs in a pan, or they’re especially delicious on a campfire grill. They’re delicious hot or cold. Diet version for low-carb and cholesterol savings: instead of bread and eggs, low-fat quark (125g per 500g of meat) can be used. Quark adds fluffiness and binds the meat with its protein. However, you’ll need more seasoning. Adding mustard makes the meat more tender, flavorful, and digestible.
