Bacon cabbage from the Su-chef

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 head of white cabbage or pointed cabbage
  • 2 apples
  • 500 g breakfast bacon
  • 50 g butter
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Put the butter in a large pot. Finely chop the cabbage and add it. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of salt. Peel and dice the apples, place them on top of the cabbage, and drizzle with the juice of half a lemon. Finely chop the bacon and place it on top of the apples. Cook the whole thing with the lid closed over medium heat until the bacon is translucent, then turn it over for the first time. Cook for 1 to 1.5 hours over medium heat with the lid closed, turning it over frequently.
