Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g gelling sugar 3:1
- 1 kg apples, peeled, core removed
- 250 ml apple juice
- 250 ml grain (apple grain)
- 1 tsp, heaped cinnamon
- 1 tsp, sautéed cloves
- 1 lemon(s), juice
- 75 g almonds, sliced
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
Peel the apples (I used Elstar and Jonagold varieties), remove the cores, and weigh out 1 kg of pulp. Finely grate the fruit pieces. Squeeze the lemon and squeeze the juice into a large saucepan. Add the apple juice and apple schnapps, then add the fruit pieces. Stir in the gelling sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring everything to a boil while stirring. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes (preferably with the lid on, as it will splash a lot), stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sliced almonds. Pour the hot jam into prepared jars and immediately seal them tightly.
