Baked apples filled with hazelnut brittle and apple sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large apples
  • 50 g hazelnut brittle
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp applesauce
  • 2 tbsp hazelnuts, ground
  • 30 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Recipe from home economics class

Preheat oven to 225°C (top/bottom heat) or 200°C (fan oven). Core the apples with an apple corer and slightly widen the tops with a knife. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and drop the filling into the apples using a teaspoon. Place the apples in a baking dish and spread the remaining filling around the apples. Bake the apples for 20-30 minutes (depending on your oven, so it’s best to check after 15-20 minutes). Serve hot! Serve with anything you like. I prefer vanilla sauce or ice cream. Note: Do not use Boskoop apples.
