Baked apples with nut-marzipan filling and crumbles

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 apples, sour
  • some lemon juice
  • 100 g marzipan paste
  • 50 g raisins
  • 350 g butter
  • 300 ml apple juice
  • 100 g honey
  • 200 g flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g nuts, ground
  • some lemon balm

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash the apples and core them with an apple corer. Cut the tops off the apples. Drizzle with lemon juice. Cut the marzipan into pieces. Knead with raisins. Fill the apples with the marzipan. Mix 200g melted butter, apple juice, and honey. Transfer to a baking dish. Place the apples in the dish. Sift the flour onto a work surface. Add the sugar, hazelnuts, and the remaining butter in small pieces. Mix to form a crumble. Spread the crumble evenly over the apples. Bake in a preheated oven (electric oven: 180°C/fan: 160°C/gas mark 3) for about 30 minutes. Remove the baked apples from the oven and arrange on a platter. Garnish with lemon balm. Serve immediately.
