Baked asparagus

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg asparagus, white and/or green
  • 200 g ham (Black Forest ham), mild, sliced
  • ½ pack of cream cheese (Brunch Paprika Pepper)
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 pack of mozzarella, sliced
  • some salt and pepper from the mill
  • Water (salt water)
  • some sugar
  • possibly sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the asparagus and trim off the woody ends. Make a broth from the peels/trimmings with water, sugar, and salt, then strain. Let the asparagus simmer in the broth for about 5 minutes, remove, drain briefly, then wrap 3 spears each with a slice of ham and place in an ovenproof dish. Dissolve the cream cheese in 300 ml of asparagus broth, add the cream, and simmer briefly for 2 minutes. If desired, thicken and pour over the asparagus parcels. Sprinkle with the mozzarella and bake in the oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
