Baked beans with ras el hanout on toast

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 can beans, black
  • some water
  • 1 tsp Ras el Hanout
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp date syrup or agave syrup
  • e.g. garlic powder
  • e.g. cayenne pepper
  • 2 slices wholemeal or brown bread, toasted

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with wholemeal or brown bread, vegan, high in protein

Place the beans in a sieve and rinse. Bring the beans, syrup, balsamic vinegar, and spices to a boil in a pot with a little water. Bring to a boil over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened to the desired consistency. The resulting mixture should be easily spreadable on toasted whole-grain or brown bread and not too runny. It’s rich in protein and antioxidants.
