Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • some margarine
  • 2 tsp broth, granulated
  • 1 some salt and pepper
  • some nutmeg
  • 5 slices of ham
  • 5 slices of Emmental cheese
  • e.g. water (cooking water from cauliflower)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Remove the leaves from the cauliflower head and trim the stalk. Then make a cross-shaped cut in the remaining stalk to aid cooking. Cook the cauliflower in salted water until tender. Transfer the cooked cauliflower to an ovenproof dish. In the meantime, make a roux from the margarine and flour. Pour in the cauliflower cooking water and bring to a boil until a thick sauce forms. Add the sour cream to the sauce. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and granulated stock; you can add more seasoning if you like. Spoon the ham and then the cheese over the cauliflower head. Pour the sauce around the sides of the cauliflower. Bake in a hot oven at approximately 180°C until the cheese has melted.
