Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 slice(s) of feta cheese
  • 1 small onion(s), red
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (unhulled)
  • 1 tsp seasoning mix for feta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Piri Piri

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for wood-fired ovens, ovens and grills

Brush a shallow clay dish, gratin dish, or aluminum foil with olive oil. Spread the feta cheese on top. Top with rings of red onion and diced garlic. Sprinkle with feta seasoning (we got it from the spice stand at the farmer’s market) and garnish with pieces of piri-piri cheese, if desired. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and drizzle with a little olive oil. If you like, you can also add olives and chili peppers to the dish. Bake at 180-200°C for about 15 minutes. If using an electric oven, briefly turn on the grill to brown the meat. Use aluminum foil packets as a “dish” for the grill. Serve with toasted baguette or light country bread.
