Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1,000 g minced meat, mixed
- 400 g cheese, grated
- 5 m.-sized onion(s)
- 2 bell peppers, red and yellow
- 1 tsp, leveled salt
- 1 tbsp, heaped mustard, if desired
- 1 tbsp soup spice (soup stock)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp, heaped pepper, black
- 1 tsp, str. Sambal Oelek, possibly.
- 2 tsp, heaped breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp oil for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
Peel and finely dice the onions, wash and trim the bell peppers, also finely dice them, and place them in a larger bowl. Add the ground beef, grated cheese, breadcrumbs, and spices. Mix everything together. Transfer to a coated or well-greased loaf pan (30 cm x 12 cm) and bake in a preheated oven at 160-170°C (top/bottom heat) for 2 hours. A shorter baking time is also possible, but longer baking times increase the shelf life. The “Klopskuchen” will keep in the refrigerator for up to a week. It is suitable as a sandwich topping, served warm with vegetables, or simply as a snack. It is also ideal and popular for parties. Depending on your taste, the sky is the limit. This recipe is merely a suggestion and can be adapted as desired. I have seen it used as a savory wedding cake.
