Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 2 large onions
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 3 pinch(s) salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 dashes of soy sauce
- 2 tsp Parmesan, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Preheat the oven to 190°C (top/bottom heat). Prepare two pieces of aluminum foil, approximately 20 x 20 cm. Peel the onion and cut two-thirds of it open, as if you were cutting the onion into wedges, but do not cut all the way through. Place one onion on each piece of foil, press down lightly, and season with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle Parmesan and Cheddar cheese over the top and into the wedges. Fold the top of the foil together. Place the onions in the oven on the middle rack and bake for approximately 20-30 minutes. Remove the onions from the oven, open the foil, and serve drizzled with soy sauce. Chef’s recipe editor’s note: If you don’t want to use aluminum foil, use parchment paper or baking paper for the packets. If you use salt, this is recommended for health reasons.
