delicious side dish for a festive meal
Bring peeled, quartered potatoes to a boil with 1 cup of salted water, then cook for 20-25 minutes on level 1 or automatic cooking zone 4-5. Drain the potatoes, steam thoroughly, press through a potato ricer or mash them. Mix with flour, egg yolk, salt, pepper, and marjoram to form a smooth dough. Let rest for about 2 hours. Then form the dough into balls. Bring the salted water to a boil, add the potato balls. Place the lid diagonally on the side of the pot, and cook the balls for 8-10 minutes on level 1/2 or automatic cooking zone 1-2 (do not boil!) until tender. Remove the potato balls with a slotted spoon, drain well, and place them in a greased baking dish. Pour the cream over them and sprinkle with cheese. Place butter flakes on top and bake in the oven at 200 – 220°C (fan oven: 170 – 190°C) on the middle rack for 30 – 35 minutes until golden brown.
