Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 rolls (souls with salt and caraway)
  • ½ cucumber(s)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • some butter
  • 2 slice(s) cheese, e.g. Emmental or Edam
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cut open the cores and brush the underside with butter. Wash the tomatoes and cucumber. Peel the cucumber and cut both into thin slices. Layer the underside of the cores alternately with cucumber and tomato. Season generously with salt and pepper and top with cheese. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. After 10 minutes, cover the cores and bake for the remaining time. If desired, you can also add ham.
