Bananas Caribbean style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 bananas
  • 4 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 125 ml sauce (apricot sauce)
  • 3 tbsp almonds, chopped
  • 4 cl rum, brown

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the bananas and halve them lengthwise. Melt the butter in a flambé pan. Sprinkle in the sugar and let it caramelize until golden. Deglaze with the orange juice and stir in the apricot sauce. Add the banana halves and let them cook for about 3 minutes. Light the rum in a ladle and pour it over the bananas. Let it burn out and arrange the bananas on plates. Sprinkle with the almonds and serve.
