Barbecue-marinated chicken with potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp chili sauce, sweet and spicy
  • 4 servings of chicken breasts or chicken thighs
  • 750 g potatoes, peeled
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 sprigs rosemary and thyme
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 400 ml chicken stock
  • e.g. tomato(s)
  • Thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Oven dish

Preheat oven to 200°C. Bring ketchup, honey, oil, soy sauce, and chili sauce to a boil. Place the chicken pieces (of your choice) in a lightly greased dish and brush with the hot sauce. Line the spaces between the pieces with the diced potatoes. Loosely distribute the garlic cubes, onion cubes, and herbs around the meat and drizzle with oil. Place the dish in the oven and cook for 60 minutes. Gradually add the chicken stock (between 200 and 400 ml) and brush the meat with the remaining sauce. Whole tomatoes seasoned with thyme can be added for the last 15 minutes.
