Bavarian cabbage fritters à la Gabi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 375 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oil
  • n. B. Water (3 – 5 tbsp), lukewarm
  • 250 g bacon, streaky
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • Margarine for the mold
  • n. B. water

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

makes about 12-14 pieces

Knead the flour, eggs, salt, oil, and water into a smooth dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Finely dice the bacon and fry it in the oil until crispy. Roll out the dough thinly on a wooden board or worktop. Spread the sauerkraut evenly over the dough, spread the bacon and fat over it, and then roll it up. Cut into 5-6 cm long pieces. Grease a casserole dish and place the cabbage fritters next to each other, leaving as little space between them as possible. Pour on 2-3 cm of water, cover, and cook in a preheated oven at 200°C for approx. 20-25 minutes. Remove the lid during the last few minutes.
