Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 ml water, warm
  • 6 tsp sugar
  • 10 tbsp oil
  • 2 cubes of fresh yeast
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 kg wheat flour
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Turkish bread

Mix together water, sugar, oil, yeast, and salt. Let it rise in a covered bowl for 10 minutes. Add the flour and knead into a smooth dough. Add a little more flour or water if needed, then let it rise for 1 hour. Then, take tangerine-sized pieces of dough and shape them into round loaves on a floured surface. Bake in batches in a non-stick pan until golden brown on both sides.
