BBQ Pizza

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour (type 405)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 150 ml water, lukewarm
  • ½ pack of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 jar of BBQ sauce
  • 2 bags of cheese (e.g. mozzarella, Gouda etc.), grated
  • e.g. sausage, meat or vegetables
  • 1 bowl of arugula

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Dissolve the sugar and dry yeast in 150 ml of lukewarm water. Combine the flour, a pinch of salt, and the olive oil in a mixing bowl. Pour the water over the flour and knead with a hand mixer until a smooth dough forms. Loosely cover the bowl with plastic wrap (to prevent the surface from drying out) and place a towel over it to cool. Let it rest in a warm place for as long as possible—at least 1 hour. After resting, shape the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll out as thinly as possible on baking paper. Brush with BBQ sauce. Top with the dough as desired, depending on the pizza chef’s taste. Preheat the oven to 250°C to 300°C (top/bottom heat). Bake the baking sheet on the lowest rack until the cheese is light golden yellow (the pizza base should also be golden yellow in places). Sprinkle the finished pizza with trimmed and chopped arugula and serve. Tip: Of course, this pizza also tastes great with regular tomato sauce. If you don’t like that, simply spread the base with herb crème fraîche.
