Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g beef (beef rump steak)
  • 150 g shallot(s)
  • 120 g gherkins
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml meat broth (instant)
  • 100 g whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • some salt
  • some pepper, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the meat into strips. Slice the shallots into wedges and the gherkins into thin strips. Heat the oil in a pan. Brown the meat little by little. Season with salt and pepper. Return all the browned meat to the pan, add the shallots, and cook briefly. Add the gherkins. Dust everything with flour and sauté. Pour in the stock and cream, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with mustard, salt, and pepper. Serve with tagliatelle or spaetzle.
