Beer Can Bacon Burger

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 450 g minced meat, mixed, preferably low-fat
  • 8 strips of bacon
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 mushrooms, fried
  • 2 onions, sautéed
  • 5 slice(s) Bacon, fried
  • 100 mozzarella or other cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 tomato(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

You will also need a beer can, or alternatively another can or bottle. Put the minced meat in a large bowl, season well with pepper and salt and mix everything together. Take out large portions with your hands (approx. 200 to 250 g) and form them into firm balls. Press the beer can deep into the minced meat ball and then cover it with the mixture to at least half the height. Then wrap it tightly with the bacon strips from bottom to top. With a slight twisting motion, pull the beer can out of the minced meat. Now fill the inside of the burgers with different combinations of filling and – depending on your taste – cover with some cheese. Grill the burgers on the kettle grill or cover with a metal bowl or aluminum foil. This takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the burgers and the grill temperature. Serve with ketchup, BBQ sauce and/or dips.
