Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 kg beetroot
  • Salt, herbal salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 bay leaves, 1 tbsp coriander, ground
  • 250 ml wine, red wine
  • 1 ½ tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp horseradish, grated
  • 125 g crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and coarsely grate the beetroot. Sauté the finely chopped onions and minced garlic in oil until golden brown. Add the beetroot and all the ingredients except the horseradish and crème fraîche to the onions. Simmer for 45-60 minutes. Then stir in the horseradish and crème fraîche. Serve with mashed potatoes.
