Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 bell peppers, red, yellow, green
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 1 onion(s), finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 500 ml tomatoes, pureed or chopped, also fresh
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • ½ tsp basil, dried
  • ½ tsp oregano, dried
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Clean the bell peppers and cut into pieces. Peel the cucumber, halve them, remove the seeds, and cut them into half rings. Heat the oil in a pot or pan, sauté the diced onion and garlic until translucent. Add the bell peppers and sauté briefly. Add the cucumbers as well. Stir in the tomato paste and fry briefly. Deglaze with the passata. Carefully season with salt, pepper, paprika, basil, oregano, and sugar. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, then season again. Serve with rice or pasta. You can also make small meatballs and add them to the sauce, or fry the minced meat with the onions right at the start.
