Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 750 g flour
- 45 g yeast
- 100 g sugar
- 500 ml milk
- 125 g butter
- some salt
- ½ lemon(s), untreated, zest and juice
- 2 eggs
- Jam to taste
- 1 egg yolk, whisked
- n. B. Fat for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes
Make a dough from flour, yeast, sugar, milk, butter, salt, lemon juice and zest, and the eggs and let it rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour. Stir the dough well and roll out to about 1 cm thick. Press round shapes onto half of the dough sheet and place a dollop of jam into each circle. Brush the edges of the circles with beaten egg yolk, cover with the other half of the dough and cut out balls according to the raised edges. Cover the balls with a cloth and let them rise again, turning each piece over. When they have risen nicely, fry them one after the other in boiling fat and dust with powdered sugar.
