Bernese chocolate cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g block chocolate
  • 100 g instant drink powder, cocoa-containing
  • 150 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 200 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Finely grate the chocolate and mix with the cocoa powder. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until fluffy, then stir in the butter. Then add the chocolate and flour with the baking powder, and finally gently fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour into a greased 26 cm round springform pan and bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (325°F) for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Test for doneness. This goes well with whipped cream.
