Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 12 slices of bacon
- 8 slice(s) Leberkäse, very thinly sliced
- 1 gherkin(s), cut into strips
- 4 slices of cheese (Chester toast cheese)
- 1 m.-sized onion(s)
- 1 cup of cream
- 250 ml sauce (hunter’s sauce), homemade or from 1 pack of instant mix
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Place three slices of bacon next to each other on each roll, then arrange the Leberkäse and cheese on top. I cut the cheese slices diagonally again and place them staggered along the entire length. Cut the gherkin into strips, halve the onion and cut it into half rings. Place them, if desired, on the side of the roll where you start rolling. Place the rolls in the baking dish so that they are lying on their open ends. This way you don’t need to secure them with kitchen string. Stir the hunter’s sauce into the cold cream and pour it into the baking dish. DO NOT put it over the rolls! Bake for approx. 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 220°C. A few minutes longer doesn’t matter if you prefer the bacon a little browner. Serve with spaghetti and salad or baguette.
